Remembering Thomas: One year on

During 2013 I had a number of Failures when attempting to photograph the boys. Since then, my photography skills have not improved! The slideshow below is conclusive evidence that the photographer’s well-known saying ‘never work with anything feathery‘, is true….. [actually, I made that saying up].

To be honest, there were many more photos I could have added to the slideshow but when viewing some, I recall loudly saying ‘Doh!’ & then hitting the delete button!

2014 Review – Search Terms

A review of the search terms that have brought people to this blog was originally done at the beginning of the year, covering the previous 500 posts. This post takes a look at the various search terms during 2014.

As before, the most common searches are typically about budgies, moults, trill toppers, cages (Ferplast), budgie noises & budgie health issues.

Interestingly, the top search was for the “ferplast piano 7” cage.

There are many one-off searches. I have categorised them:

Understandable but intriguing – Would like further information from the searcher.
Definitely was not looking for a birdie blog – Pretty sure the searcher was NOT looking for a blog like this one!

Bubble, bubble toil and trouble

All the bubbles that Phineas has been blowing recently has put the following words from Shakespeare’s Macbeth in my mind:

Double, double toil and trouble

In my head the witches chant now goes something like this:

Bubble, bubble toil and trouble;
Head bop, and beak that bubbles.
~
Leaf of spinach and finger of vet,
Shredded broccoli and red millet,
De-hulled oats and stalk of celery,
Egg boiled hard and seed of canary,
In the crop, churn and toss,
A bob of head and foamy froth,
For a charm of powerful trouble,
Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.

(Apologies to Mr Shakespeare!)
