Puddings & Toyboys

A blog about my beautiful budgies.

2017 Review – TOP POSTS

The year 2018 is here.  It is now time to reflect on the last 12 months.  For starters, here are the top 5 posts that got the most views in 2017:

  1. The ABC’s of budgie noises (

  2. RBS – Randy Budgie Syndrome (

  3. Cagney & his amazing pin feathers (November

  4. How to keep a budgie or budgies quiet? (May 2012)

  5. Poor spider plant (June

In first & second positions are two posts that consistently score a high number views over the years.   There are only 13 views between them; it is almost like they are linked, i.e., lots of randy budgies must be making all sorts of noises!  Noisy budgies are clearly an important theme, given position four.

We cannot have a birdie blog without some reference to feathers or moults, hence position three.

Surprisingly, there still seems to be a lot of interest in budgies eating house plants (position five).  I will take this opportunity to remind those looking after birds to check that any plants kept in the same room are safe plants.  There are lots of websites listing safe plants & those that are not safe, so please check if you are unsure.

Phineas & Cagney

Above, you will see I have chosen Phinny to represent position two, & Cagney, position three.

Happy New Year to you all. 🙂

Such a beautiful picture of Phinny (NOT being randy) and Cagney (without a pin feather to be seen)!
