2017 Review – Strong & Stable

This time last year, I posted about all the changes during 2016.  By contrast, 2017 has been pretty “strong & stable” (those in the UK may have heard that phrase once or twice from our PM!)

It has been a stable year in that we have not lost anyone in our flock.  We lost Phineas in 2016, Cagney in 2015 & Thomas in 2014, so we would have to go back to 2013 for a loss-free year.  Though our flock stood firm, our loyal follower rosebudgie sadly suffered a double tragedy with the loss of the legendary Ian & Marshall – the Sharing Sausages, who are & will continue to be, deeply missed from this blog.

It has been a strong year because we have faced some challenges, in particular Bezukhov’s Extreme Moult Experienceflock introductions & a new home, but have come through them relatively unscathed, ready to face whatever 2018 will throw at us.

Wishing you all a very happy & healthy New Year.

A strong and stable year for the flock is certainly long overdue. The sausages are surely sending ‘keep well’ vibes to their friends, Bezuhkov, Dalai, Perry and Lennie, from over the Rainbow Bridge!

  2. I’m happy that you have suffered no losses in 2017, you worked very hard to help Bezukhov through his terrible moult.

As well as Rose losing the lovely Marshall and Ian, we lost our beloved JoJo and Pete.

Here’s to a happy and healthy 2018 to us all, feathery and otherwise.
