Freedom, friends & food

As previously reported, Dalai finally left the confines of his cage on the 11th May, after several weeks of quarantine & sitting tight.  The deciding factor to getting him out was wild, seeded grass In other words, an irresistible foodie treat!

His moment of freedom was captured on film:

After a bit of goading from Phineas, & then Bezukhov coming to investigate, Dalai found his wings & was off!

He flew several high laps of the room & did not appear to know how to fly lower but gradually his circles got lower until he executed a perfect landing on the Silver Villa!  He then flew off again & found the Manor.  He also, very cleverly, found his own cage & the doorway & popped back home!

Brainstorming session

Further to my previous post on the toyboys bid for freedom, I report that they have not given up on staging a daring escape bid.

The toyboys thought they were having a secret meeting but I overheard a heated discussion & had to investigate.  I found both Cagney & Bezukhov studying the roof latch on the Manor.

It seems that Cagney thought the best solution to unlock it would be to give the latch a good eyeballing.  Bezukhov was most unimpressed with this idea & thought a more practical approach of sliding it across would be more effective.  Fortunately, they did not manage to come to an agreement so the escape plan was called off…

Temporarily, I have to assume….

A bid for freedom

The toyboys’ bid for freedom has been thwarted!

I was a little suspicious that they had been spending a lot of time on the roof of the manor.  Whenever I approached they immediately looked guilty & shuffled their feet.  When I asked them what they were up to I never got a coherent reply, although this was fairly normal…

Anyway, unfortunately for the boys, I discovered what they were up to.  They had managed to unlock the roof latch!  This was no mean feat, as you have to pull it out & then swing it sideways.  Clearly it was a two-budgie job.

Naturally, I locked it again & now I check it frequently.  The boys will have to find something else naughty to do!
