The Three Spots

It is moulting time again.

Certainly for Bezukhov.

Overnight he lost 3 spot feathers.  He looks a little lop-sided now.  He has also lost 3 flight feathers.  During the day more & more feathers have fallen.  He gives a little shake & they drop around him.  By yesterday evening, his belly was already looking ruffled & tatty.  Poor boy.

Fluffy fascinator

The toyboys are moulting again.  The weather has been very changeable so I am not too surprised.  There is fluff everywhere.  The boys tend to have a bit on their heads, ceres & beaks & occasionally stuck to a wing or a belly.  Bezukhov has learned that if fluff falls off, leave it, do not peck at it.  Cagney will panic when there is fluff on his face but when he finally manages to get it off, he promptly pecks at it & it gets stuck to his face again.

Here he is, wearing a fluffy fascinator on the back of his head:

Bezukhov is lop-sided.  He has lost his spots on one side of his face.  The other side still looks fine.

Poor Bezukhov is moulting heavily now. 

He has lost a tail feather & most of his little spots. 

His tummy looks very tatty.

As you can see from the photo, it looks like he has a big, jagged scar across his face. 

All that does not stop him from babbling, chatting & flying around though.
