Let it snow…

Let it snow…. a little bit!

Last Sunday, on the 10th December, there was more than a flurry of snow; the snow actually settled, albeit only briefly.  Once again, Bezukhov, Dalai, Perry & Lennie were intrigued by the sight.  Well actually, Lennie was too busy continuing his quest to be irritating, to be distracted by a little snow.  Here they are, according to the soundtrack, reminiscing about their summer…

The coldness continued & the following day brought a mixture of snow & sleet.  Here they are on the window perches surveying the phenomenon:

In the video above & photos below, you can see that Lennie did appear to pay attention to the snow but the reality was that he just followed Dalai over to the window perch!

Snow Flurry

Two days ago, on the 30th November, we had a flurry of snow!

I was busy working at the computer when I was aware that Bezukhov, Dalai, Perry & Lennie all started shouting at the same time.  When I looked to see what was up, I could see they were shouting at what they could see out the window – snow!  I attempted to capture the excitement on video:

The snow flurry did not last long & none of it settled.  It has continued to be cold but we have not had any more snow… yet!

Hot birds

We are having a last minute bit of summer weather here in the UK.  It is warm rather than hot.  I always know when it is properly hot because I get the fan out & the blinds are kept down.  If it is unusually hot, I put an ice pack in front of the fan!  These photos were taken in June:

Below are some photos of the hot boys – they usually sit with their wings out, a bit like they need to get air to their wing-pits.

It seems I did not get a photo of Dalai looking hot.  So as not to leave him out, I have included a photo of him looking handsome:

Heatwave

We are having a mini-heatwave in the UK.  I know it is a heatwave because I have dug the fan out of the cupboard. 🙂

It’s snowing leaves!

As usual, we have had all sorts of weather here.  It has turned cold but no snow yet in these parts.

However, the other week it looked like it was snowing.  The ground outside the back was covered in leaves & the wind was blowing hard, whipping up the leaves & blowing more off the (few) trees.  Bezukhov & Dalai were mesmerised by the sight.  I was filming Bezukhov on the playgym (a rare visit there) when he suddenly looked surprised & when I panned to the window, where he was looking, I saw all the falling “snow”.

Dalai went over to the window perch to investigate further.

Two weeks ago we had some snow.  It did not stay long but I managed to get some photos of Bezukhov & Phineas admiring it.

A Windy Day

We have had some windy weather lately.  Here are Bezukhov & Phineas investigating at the window perch:

Wet & windy weather

We have had some wet & windy weather recently.  Interestingly, the boys find the sound of wind against the window more scary than the sound of thunder or fireworks.

When it is pouring down with rain & the window is covered in raindrops, Bezukhov is usually the first to investigate.  It is possible he is still trying to complete his study of rain that I reported about some time ago (click here).  This particular day, the other boys helped him with his investigations:
